CDBG Application and Resolution No. 534 for Pocomoke City

                                                                                                                      Resolution No. 534

WHEREAS, State of Maryland through the Department of Housing and Community Development has solicited applications from eligible jurisdictions to apply for funding under the Maryland Community Development Block Grant Program; and

WHEREAS, Pocomoke City is eligible to apply for funds from the Maryland Community Development Block Grant Program through the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development; and

 WHEREAS, the Pocomoke City Mayor and Council will hold the Required public hearing(s) related to the formulation of the Pocomoke City’s Block Grant application; and            WHEREAS, the left Pocomoke City Mayor and Council understand and acknowledge that they would be responsible for completion of grant activities and any corrective actions including overpayment of funds if necessary;

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pocomoke City Mayor and Council authorized the submittal of an application for Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of $30,000.00 this (-----) day of (________20___) for the following project:

Pocomoke City is submitting this application in the amount of $30,000 to hire a consultant to develop a Capital Improvement Plan. This plan will provide a direct link between Pocomoke City’s Comprehensive and Strategic Revitalization plans as well as its annual budget. The outcome should provide a five-year plan and will identify capital public projects, equipment purchases, any suggested studies, in conjunction with construction and completion schedules, and in consort with financing plans.

This plan will provide a working blueprint for sustaining and improving the community’s infrastructure. It coordinates strategic planning, financial capacity, and physical development.

The Capital Improvement Plan should represent an estimate of future capital needs to be funded through projected revenue estimates as well as identify specific grants for funding projects not within the city’s budget.

 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Jeremy Mason, City Manager is authorized and empowered to execute any and all documents required for the submission of this application.
