NOTICE WINTER QUARTERS DRIVE RESIDENTS-WATER SERVICE WILL BE TEMPORARILY TURNED OFF ON

TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2021 FROM APPROXIMATELY 9:00 A.M. TO 3:00 P.M.

During this period, Public Works employees will install a new valve in the water line on Winter Quarters Drive as part of a project to fix fire hydrants in the City.

Water service will be returned ASAP.

Hazard Mitigation Plan Update 

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF POCOMOKE CITY ADOPTING THE 2020 WORCESTER COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION & RESILIENCE PLAN AS THE TOWN 2020 HAZARD MITIGATION & RESILIENCE PLAN. 

WHEREAS, POCOMOKE CITY, A MUNICIPALITY of Worcester County recognizes the federal Disaster Act of 2000 requiring that all States and local jurisdictions develop, submit, and update hazard mitigation plans that may reduce the impacts of hazards; and 

Pocomoke City requests a statement of qualifications from engineering firms in performing: 

1. Planning, design and bidding services, 

2. Construction contract administration services, 

3. Resident project representative services, 

4. Design services during construction. 

for the Pocomoke City Water Tanks #1 and #2 Mixers; one located at 7th St. and the second on the Beltway in Pocomoke City, Maryland. The Pocomoke City Water Tanks  #1 and #2 Mixers project is to be funded in part by loans from the Maryland Department of Environment under the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) as well as an expected Water Supply Grant (WSG). 

Fair Summary as follows:

Resolution to amend Chapter § C-35, Election of Mayor and Council

A. Starting in 2023, making the Mayor’s term four (4) years long, rather than three (3) years.

Chapter § C-15, Selection and Term

 A. Clarifying length of term to be compatible with Chapter § C-35, prior to April of 2023 shall hold office for a term of three (3) years and for a term of four (4) years when elected in April of 2023 and hereinafter.
