The Mayor and Council have determined pursuant to Section C-24 (B) 47 of the Code of Pocomoke City, Maryland, that certain properties owned by Pocomoke City are no longer needed for public use and have therefore agreed to dispose of same. The following items are no longer needed for public use and are hereby declared surplus property.

CIRCUIT RIDER GRANT APPLICATION

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POCOMOKE CITY, MARYLAND IS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A MARYLAND CIRCUIT RIDER APPLICATION

6:00 P.M., on May 28, 2O2O Facebook Livestream for Pocomoke City

The Mayor and City Council of Pocomoke City proposes to increase nonowner-occupied real property taxes.

1. For the tax year beginning July 1, 2020, the estimated real property assessable base will increase by 1.53o/o, from $97,007,546 to $98,490,480.

2. lf Pocomoke City maintains the current tax rate of $0.9375 per $100 of assessment, real property tax revenues will increase by 1 .53% resulting in $13,903 of new real property tax revenues.

3. ln order to fully offset the effect of increasing assessments, the real property tax rate should be reduced to $0.9234, the constant yield tax rate.

Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Pocomoke in City Hall, 101 Clarke Avenue, Pocomoke City, Maryland 21851, until Monday, June 1, 2020, at 4:30 pm (EST) from qualified manufacturers/dealers who are in good standing and authorized to do business in the State of Maryland.

Bulk Trash Day is normally the second Wednesday of each month. Changes to that schedule will be indicated on the monthly water bills or call City Hall at 410-957-2521. The daily trash collection schedule is east of Market St. (Tues. & Fri.); west of Market St. (Mon. & Thurs.). Daily trash pickup changes during Holiday closings will be updated on the monthly water bills and posted here, on the City website and on the City's Facebook page.

Trash Collection Schedule: Trash must be placed at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection days.

Update: The Board of Election Supervisors in Pocomoke City: It is the decision and interpretation of the Board of Elections that all absentee ballots cast in the April 7, 2020 election will be declared null and void and will not be considered in any re-scheduled election.

The Pocomoke City Municipal election scheduled for April 7, 2020 will be postponed until further notice. More information will be forthcoming as Pocomoke City works to stay within the confines of the current State of Emergency conditions while keeping our citizen's health and safety the most important concern. 

As a precaution against COVlD-19, public access to City Hall is restricted until further notice.
