Bids & Public Notices

The Ethics Commission received a complaint via certified letter on August 8, 2019 against the Mayor and City Council related to 4 issues.

The Ethics Commission convened on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 4:00PM and reviewed the relevant allegations, statements and documents.

The Ethics Commission voted that the facts alleged were not a violation of the Pocomoke City Ethics Ordinance.

This is to remind property owners that beginning January 1, 2018, new regulations (BOLD CAPITAL PRINT) take effect for collection of solid waste and trash.  The City will also be strictly enforcing existing ordinances as well in an effort to reduce excessive trash hauling fees and to improve community appearances.  Here are important facts you need to know:

  1. Trash collection is available for residential properties and for apartment houses with four (4) units or fewer.  Commercial and industrial properties must provide for their own trash collection.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with MD Code, Land Use §17-212 and the Charter of the Pocomoke City, Ordinance No. 448 is hereby created by the Pocomoke City Mayor & Council to legally change the name of “Short Street” to “Bishop Isaac Jenkins Street”. A public hearing was conducted on Monday, May 20th, 2019 and there were no objections by the public. Pocomoke City Mayor & Council has approved the request and will rename an approximate 300-foot stretch of roadway intersecting at three different points with Young Street, Bonneville Avenue and Moore Street on September 7th, 2019 at 2:00 PM, forever hereafter, to be known as “Bishop Isaac Jenkins Street” in Pocomoke City.
