The Mayor and City Council meeting that was tentatively scheduled for Monday, July 15, 2024 has been rescheduled. The meeting will take place on Monday, July 22, 2024 at its regular time of 6:30pm.  

Due to the 4th of July holiday City Hall will be closed. The offices and city services will resume on Friday, July 5th. Garbage pickup services will change for those who have Thursday pick up as well. All Thursday, July 4th trash pick up will be collected on Wednesday, July 3rd.

Pocomoke City is pleased to report to our residents the 2023 Water Quality Report. Clean drinking water is a priority to keep our citizens safe and healthy.

The purpose of the Public Hearings is to receive public comment on:

Resolution No. 593: A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF POCOMOKE CITY, MARYLAND TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTIES AS SURPLUS

Resolution No. 594: A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF POCOMOKE CITY, MARYLAND TO UTILIZE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT (ARPA) FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING A NEW AMBULANCE

THE POCOMOKE CITY RENTAL REGISTRATION PROGRAM IS NOW IN EFFECT.  POCOMOKE CITY NOW REQUIRES REGISTRATION AND INSPECTION OF RENTAL PROPERTIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROTECTING THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS OF POCOMOKE CITY, IMPROVING RENTAL HOUSING CONDITIONS, PREVENTING THE DETERIORATION OF HOUSING STOCK, AND PROVIDING SAFE AND SANITARY HOUSING CONDITIONS.

UPON CONCLUSION OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON JUNE 3, 2024, THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF POCOMOKE CITY APPROVED EMERGENCY RESOLUTION 595, FY 2025 TAX RATES, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2024.  

As a part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve drinking water quality in Pocomoke City, the City has hired a general contractor to perform CIPP lining of the water main along Market Street. Residents along the portion of Market Street from Eighth Street to Old Virginia Avenue will be connected to a temporary water service while the CIPP lining and associated work is being conducted to ensure that there is no disruption in service.

The duration of the temporary water service is expected to last from Early June until Late August.
